Veterans Appreciation Picnic
On 13 June, 2009 the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 972 hosted the annual Veterans Appreciation Picnic. I have attached photos that I took of the event.
I had to leave early but while I was there, it was a beautiful day and there were quite a few people that came out. Special Kudos go out to Mike Spencer and Floyd Ross. They received a special thanks from the chapter and a plaque was presented to both of them by the Governor.
I understand that Doug Stewart won the Gas Grill donated by Intermountain Gas. Congratulations to Doug.

SUBWAY's Kids With Vets
On Memorial Day, individuals and families pause to remember U.S. men and
Women who have died in military service for their country. Many honorably gave their lives for a cause much greater; freedom.
In remembrance of this special day, SUBWAY Restaurants created their Kids With Vets program, where SUBWAY invites military men and women to attend an elementary school assembly with 4th, 5th and 6th grade students and share with them their experiences while serving their country.

Veterans share personal experiences with the students while they enjoy lunch together, provided by SUBWAY. The opportunity is designed to provide students with a rich learning experience from individuals who have taken part in shaping our nations history.
MAC was proud to be a part of this. We were happy to help with finding veterans, and wish to thank everyone involved.

Civil Air Patrol Recieves Flag
Here are some pictures of the civil air patrol. The Military Affairs
Committee presented them with an American Flag that had been flown over
our nations capitol for their devoted tireless work on Wreaths Across
America in 2008.
Donation recieved
On Tuesday, December 16, BMC West and Eastern Idaho Home Builders Association made a $5,000 donation to the Idaho Falls Chamber Military Affairs Committee.
The award was presented at the Red Lion in Idaho Falls at the weekly forum luncheon. The money will be used to pay for everything from car rides to the doctors, to food and utility bills. The committee also provides emergency support and crisis intervention for military personnel and their families.

The need is always there, and this money will help out.
MAC would like to thank BMC West and Eastern Idaho Home Builders Association for their support of out military personnel and their families.
